| Introducing…..THE
FAMILY BODY
The Family Body
You know it well. It's the two of you after the touch of love, wrapping
in each other's arms. It's each of you with hands held tight, wrapping
each other in support. It's a new mother's belly bulging wrapping
around new life.
Moving through each day together, making each
day go right and experiencing the joy of each day requires physical
fitness.
What you already know: Exercise is important
Exercise is important to your overall health as
well as the health of your family.
Aside from the physical benefits of exercising there are great and
cherished emotional benefits - the bond of exercising as a family
and setting up habits for your children to enjoy physical activity
throughout life.
Exercise the Family Body
One way to incorporate physical movement to strengthen
the family body is by taking walks together in the evening. As you
leave, close the door on the worries and tasks of the day and be
in complete communication with each other and with the natural environment.
Switching your focus to strengthen body-mind-spirit
If you and/or your children spend most of your
days indoors, an evening walk can help change your focus to nature
and the external environment. This switch to a focus on the external
and natural environment is important energetically because you are
coming into contact with the growth, breath, and constant change
in the life of nature.
Listen with care and intention
An evening walk is also a time for each family
member to be in complete, focused communication with each other.
This can be a vital time to listen with care and intent to your
children describing daily activities, successes and wins in their
day, or express any concerns or obstacles without the distraction
of tasks, telephones, and interruptions.
