| Heavenly
Bodies Clinic first fertility patient was Kathe Ana's daughter.
In spite of struggling with severe back pain sustained in an accident
on a freezing Christmas eve 5 years prior, at 26 years old, Tammy
and Doug were trying to conceive for the first time. After six months,
and discouraged by the back pain, they decided to give up and maybe
try later.
On a visit home to Virginia, Tammy told Kathe Ana
about not being able to conceive, about her relentless back pain,
and debilitating menstrual cramping. After a full intake, it was
clear that her infertility was related to the back pain, and an
invasion of cold that happened the night of the accident.
Kathe Ana set out a rigorous treatment plan that
included an herbal formula and three treatments a day during their
six day visit. Tammy and Doug went home to Denver with instructions
for further hot herbal treatments that Doug could administer. Tammy's
back pain was reduced by 90% by the time they left for home, and
Kathe Ana's prognosis regarding fertility: ready for conception in
three months.
Exactly 12 months later, Rece Montgomery Hider
was joyfully welcomed to the family. Today, 35% of the patient base
at Heavenly Bodies Clinic is couples who are seeking to start a
family.
Meridian Movement, Gentle Exercise for Infertility
and Post Conception
With a lifelong interest in studying cultural
issues of beauty, strength, passion and sexuality, and a love of
exercise, one of the first programs that Tiffany Ana developed when
she joined Kathe Ana at Heavenly Bodies Clinic was Meridian
Movement for infertility. The Meridian
Movement for infertility is precise exercises that draw Qi and
blood to the reproductive organs, develop a couples' emotional bond,
and build the physical strength necessary for the woman to sustain
a healthy and joyful pregnancy. One-on-one sessions with the personal
trainer encourage women to enjoy their bodies, enhance their sexuality,
and increase movement of energy through the whole body.
Stress: The World Around You Can be Part
of the Problem
Your relationship with people, nature and the
environment influences your ability to conceive. If you have had
trouble conceiving, you probably realize that the world around you
can be part of the problem - this is often referred to as stress.
A relationship of harmony and wellness with the world around you
encourages you to connect with who you are in your life as an individual,
as a couple, and in your quest for starting a family.
Western medical treatment for infertility can
be harsh, forcing the body into fertility. Eastern medicine brings
the body back into balance, strengthening the spirit, allowing your
body to adapt to the force of the drugs, and unlocking the bodies
unlimited potential for healing. Many of the conditions that prevent
pregnancy such as endometriosis, blocked fallopian tubes, hormone
problems, painful menses, low sperm count and sluggish sperm yield
to the gentle treatments of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
How Does It Work?
Medical experts hypothesize that the ancient
approach using acupuncture and herbs positively impacts opioid
production in the central nervous system. This in turn positively
influences gonadotropin secretion. Gonadotropins are the hormones
that help promote normal reproductive function in the body. They
include follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), which helps promote
follicle maturity prior to the release of an egg in women, and
sperm production in men. Experts also suggest acupuncture has
a positive effect on uterine bloodflow. See

ACUPUNCTURE INCREASES FERTILITY
As a couple, your journey to fertility is unique.
Two couples with the same western diagnosis for infertility may
have very different underlying causes according to Traditional Chinese
Medicine. This differentiation guides the treatment, making it specific
to your needs.
HERBAL FORMULAS ARE NON-TOXIC
Herbal formulas are gentle, non-toxic treatments
to bring the body back to optimum fertility. Herbs, used along with
acupuncture, have increased fertility in couples using ART by 65%,
and herbs have been used very successfully to prevent miscarriage.
Some infertility clinics advise against the use of herbs during
ART because the action of herbs has not been studied in western
style research labs. If this is your case, we advise you on the
Energetics of Foods you can add to increase fertility and bring
you to optimum health.
MERIDIAN MOVEMENT - GETTING IN TOUCH
For a couple going through ART (Assisted Reproductive
Technology) to conceive, a healthy body is paramount. Meridian movement
strengthens your physical health so you can:
Resist
disease
Overcome
stress
Reduce
anxiety
Regulate
menses
Invigorate
sperm
For a woman who is trying to conceive, Meridian
Movement can make the difference between the success or failure
of a reproductive cycle. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has
been used for centuries to treat issues of sexuality, growth and
reproduction.
Traditional Chinese
Medicine & Reproductive Technology
TCM
treats each person holistically…treating the mind, body
and spirit.
TCM
has no undesired side effects…and minimizes undesired side
effects from the drug regimen used in ART
Traditional
Chinese medicine strengthens and balances one's general health
so Assisted Reproductive Technologies are more effective.
The TCM
patient derives general health benefits and endocrine system balancing
from specific acupuncture points and herbal formulas.
Acupuncture
treatments reduce the stress load of infertility. Pregnancy becomes
easier to achieve and postpartum recuperation happens faster.
The aim of TCM in the treatment of
any dis-ease process is to normalize, harmonize, and bring body,
mind and spirit into balance.
