The Year Of The Green Sheep

The Sheep is the 8th sign of the twelve animals in the Chinese Zodiac, 8 is the lucky number for the Chinese, and being born under the 8th sign is auspicious indeed.

Sheep babies, born from February 19, 2015 to February 7, 2016, the last day of the 2016 lunar year, are good-hearted and generous in their attention to others well-being.

Looking at the traits of the Sheep, it’s not hard to see how these people bring balance to the world we live in today.

We can all practice the qualities of the Sheep, in spite of the long reach of graft and corruption, violence and betrayal, that has led to our reticence to trust or give our loyalty anywhere.

Goodness brings me fortune: You don’t have to venture far from home to find ways to express “goodness.”  A Pizza-By-The-Slice company started giving free slices of pizza to homeless people on his street.  Soon, customers started buying an extra slice of pizza to be given away.  Four months later, that shop had double, then triple, the paying business.

I believe in the human race: Perhaps this is the most difficult trait to practice. In spite of being bombarded with daily news that makes it hard to ignore the reasons why we wouldn’t believe in others, we can focus on all the reasons to believe!

I understand the meaning of giving: /giv/ 1.To present voluntarily and without expecting compensation. 2. Cause or allow (someone or something) to have (something, especially something abstract); provide or supply with.  Check it out…the operative words here are “voluntarily” and “without expecting compensation.”  Not to get, but to simply give.

My cup is never empty:  Life is very full when we are content with less or, as the saying goes, “less is more.”  We can take to heart, and change our actions now, based on what so many people have died saying, “If I had it to do over I wouldn’t work all those hours in order to buy all those things, go all those places, and be all that important.  I would simply spend more time with the people I loved.”

I am loyal and just and in others I trust: In our sophistication today, we have a myriad ways of communicating but, the best of them is to simply be Loyal: do not natter-chatter-&-gossip about people; be Just: Do not diminish any persons right to freely believe and freely practice their beliefs; be Trusting: Place confidence in others and in so doing, give them the ability they need to go, do and be their very best.
