Answers to Your Treatment Questions

H

ere are some of the more frequently asked questions we hear from our new patients.  If you don’t find your question below, please email us , call us, or text: 571-499-9293.

How does Chinese medicine work?

People are bio-energetic systems. Pain, illness, negative emotions and stress result from an imbalance of energy. Western medicine’s view is that the treatment modalities of acupuncture and herbs release our natural endorphins and opioids, and stimulate the immune system as well as neurotransmitters and neurohormones in the brain.

Is acupuncture for you?

If you are in pain, if stress is interfering with your happiness and your health, if you have a health or medical problem that has been unsuccessfully treated, if you have been unable to conceive – then yes, Chinese medicine is for you. Contact us and let’s begin a conversation.

Is acupuncture safe?

Acupuncture is safe because it is non-invasive and there are no chemical side effects. Extremely fine, hair-thin, sterilized, one-time-use needles are painlessly inserted at specific points on the body.

How long is a treatment session?

Plan one hour for your first appointment and 30-45 minutes for follow up treatments.

How many treatments will I need?

The best results are achieved with three treatments close together (within 10 days). After these initial sessions, we evaluate your health and design a treatment plan that could be once a week or once a month. The treatment for special conditions vary.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not take insurance.  Payment for all Heavenly Bodies Clinic treatments is due at the time of the appointment. Many health insurance policies do cover acupuncture. Check your policy or call your provider to determine coverage. Our receipts have all the medical codes and license numbers that your insurance company will need to reimburse you. You can also use funds from a Health Savings Account (pre-tax dollars).

Thank you Heavenly Bodies! What I’ve learned and experienced will forever change how I treat my body.
