As months–and for some, years–drag on without conceiving, what is a natural part of the sexual life of many couples–conception–can become a nightmare maze for others.

In a quest to start a family, couples engage in a process of western medical intervention with IVF or IUI (InVitro Fertilization, IntraUterine Insemination) that is confusing at best and stressful enough to negatively impact every aspect of the couple’s life.

Acupuncture and herbal treatment together has shown over and over again, by the stories from the patients themselves, that we can improve egg quality or sperm count, thicken the endometrial lining for a healthy environment for the growing fetus, and calm the anxiety associated with infertility.

Preeti is now happily juggling two darling boys, family life and a full time teaching position at Georgetown University. Before coming to Heavenly Bodies Clinic, Preeti was able to get pregnant but within the first few weeks she would spontaneously abort.   In several acupuncture treatments the painful periods and dark clotting that were Preeti’s chief complaint had disappeared.  For the next three months her menses was completely normalized with bright red blood and a good flow tapering off over 5 days.

Preeti decided to start Assisted Reproductive Technology and within two cycles she was pregnant with her first boy.  The second time around, she was pregnant in the first IVF cycle.
