Bladderwrack for Treatment of Infertility

Bladderwrack for Treatment of Infertility

The herbs used in Chinese medicine formulas today in the U.S. may be a far cry from those of ancient China.  We no longer allow tiger’s teeth, or parts of endangered species, or things with names such as “3 penis elixir.”

But one thing remains.  Plants that resemble specific body parts, are often used to treat a disease in that part of the body.

Take a look at how bladderwrack (one type of seaweed) bears a stunning resemblance to the fimbriae that pull the eggs into the fallopian tubes, where the eggs wait for the sperm.

It is for this remarkable image that not just seaweed, or sea vegetables in general, but specifically bladderwrack, is harvested-dried-powdered and added to herbal formulas to treat female infertility.

Other examples of foods used in the treatment of diseases, and found in your local grocery store: kidney beans treat diseases of urination or of the kidney itself; watercress and beets treat problems with the blood vessels and the blood; oysters are considered good for treating problems of female genitals.

Mother Nature truly does a lot more than we think in keeping us healthy.  At HBC we build our herbal formulas based on Chinese medicine, your state of health, your energy levels, and your symptoms.

So, head’s up and keep your eyes open next time you’re in the grocery store.  If you spot something that resembles a problem you have, buy it and try it!
